19-20 May 2011, Otago
This inaugural meeting included discussion of three main themes. ‘Peace and Conflict Studies: The State of the Field’ allowed participants to make individual presentations, explaining the Peace and Conflict Studies offerings at each institution and identifying the problematics of the discourse. ‘Matariki Network Peace and Conflict Studies Programmes: Strengths and Weaknesses’ allowed faculty to exchange course information and discuss differences in institutional offerings. ‘Enhancing Collaboration and Cooperation’ provided a forum to try and find practical solutions to some of the issues discussed earlier in the day.
