25-26 January 2014, Herstmonceux Castle
Scholars from several MNU universities participated in a workshop on Indigenous Europe at Queen’s University’s Bader International Study Centre (BISC) at Herstmonceux Castle. Participants hope to develop a book from the discussion, and the BISC expects to launch a new Indigenous Studies Field School in the summer of 2015.
Representatives from five Matariki universities – Queen’s, UWA, Durham, Tübingen and Uppsala – as well as a representative from the University of John Paul II Kraków contributed to the two day event. Indigenous studies has been identified as a key area of research for Matariki partners and James Carson, of Queen’s University’s History Department, led the development of the workshop.
