Today we celebrate Matariki – a season of reflection, connection and renewal, marked by the rising of the Matariki star cluster and the beginning of the Māori New Year. The 2026 theme, Matariki Harenga Waka, translates to “Matariki, the mooring place of many canoes,” symbolizing unity, inclusion and shared heritage.
