Uppsala Delegation Visit to Tübingen

Led by Vice-Chancellor Anders Hagfeldt and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Coco Norén, a delegation of Uppsala University visited the University of Tübingen on Monday, 15th May 2023. The eight delegation members from Uppsala met with the Tübingen Vice-Presidents Karin Amos, Peter Grathwohl and Monique Scheer, the Deans of the Faculties of Science, Medicine, and Economics and Social Sciences, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, several researchers and members of Tübingen University administration; including the Executive Vice-President.

Subjects of central interest included interdisciplinarity in research, the Tübingen excellence strategy and internationalization strategy, as well as sustainability and sustainable development at Tübingen and Uppsala. The three Uppsala Vice-Rectors Charlotte Platzer Björkman, Mats Larhed and Tora Holmberg also used the opportunity for individual meetings with other Tübingen colleagues from the Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences and the Humanities in separate afternoon sessions.

Uppsala University is one of Tübingen’s strategic partner institutions, and a network partner in the Matariki Network of Universities (MNU) and The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities (The Guild). 

After the meetings, Vice-Chancellor Hagfeldt and Vice-Rector Larhed from Uppsala as well as Vice-President Scheer and Dean Stehle from the Tübingen Faculty of Science expressed their strong wish to further intensify the bilateral strategic collaborations and best practice exchanges.
