Matariki Leadership Programme 2025–26 comes to a close

The 2025–26 Matariki Leadership Programme has now successfully concluded, bringing together 28 colleagues from professional services across Queen’s University, Durham University, the University of Otago and the University of the Western Cape.

Running from February to June, the programme offered a collaborative international experience, with sessions focused on global leadership, leading through change, and organisational transformation and strategy. Participants also had the chance to connect across institutions, share experiences, and build practical skills to support their roles—working hard to collaborate across time zones and overcome the challenges of being based in different parts of the world.

The final session saw participants present group projects, showcasing their learning and the strength of cross-institutional collaboration.

Feedback from the cohort was positive, with participants highlighting both the value of the group work and the immediate impact on their day-to-day practice. As one participant shared:

Excellent experience… I am already implementing the principles of change management and bringing people together, even when there is resistance.

A huge thank you to all those who took part and contributed to making this year’s programme such a success. We look forward to seeing the continued impact of this cohort across the Matariki Network.
